Technical Design Associate

Position Overview
The Technical Design Associate is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, plans, and specifications for glass and aluminum projects. The position works closely with the Sales, Project, Production, and Installation teams to ensure that designs are technically feasible, accurate, and aligned with client requirements and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, elevations, sections, and layouts for glass and aluminum projects.
- Review architectural plans, project specifications, and site conditions to ensure accurate technical requirements.
- Conduct or assist in site measurements and verify actual dimensions before fabrication or installation.
- Develop drawings based on approved designs, measurements, and project requirements.
- Prepare material take-offs and assist in identifying required glass, aluminum profiles, hardware, accessories, and other materials.
- Coordinate with Sales and Project teams regarding design requirements, revisions, and technical concerns.
- Review and revise drawings based on client, consultant, project, or management comments.
- Ensure that approved drawings are properly documented and endorsed to the appropriate teams for fabrication and installation.
- Coordinate with the Production and Installation teams to resolve technical issues encountered during fabrication or site installation.
- Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions, specifications, and constructability.
- Assist in preparing technical documents and reports required for project implementation.
- Monitor drawing revisions and maintain proper records of approved and updated plans.
- Provide technical support during project execution and assist in resolving design-related concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable safety and quality requirements.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related course.
- Preferably with experience in glass and aluminum, façade, doors and windows, architectural systems, or construction-related projects.
- Knowledge of glass and aluminum materials, profiles, hardware, and installation methods is an advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting/design software.
- Able to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, 3D modeling, or other design software is an advantage.
- With good understanding of measurements, dimensions, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Able to manage multiple drawings, revisions, and project requirements within deadlines.
- Willing to conduct site visits and coordinate with project teams when required.
