About The Role
The Financial Analyst I at Campbell Oil Company is a vital member of the Financial Services team, responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, underwriting credit terms, and managing accounts receivable. This full-time position plays a key role in safeguarding the company’s financial health by reducing credit risk, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining compliance with payment policies. The analyst will monitor account performance, drive collections, and foster professional relationships with customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. They should be adept at managing multiple priorities, exercising sound judgment, and contributing to process improvements to support the company's growth and financial stability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit analysis, or commercial underwriting (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements and credit data
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in ERP/AR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)
- Knowledge of credit risk standards and collections practices
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze new and existing customer credit applications, financial statements, credit reports, and trade references to assess creditworthiness
- Establish and adjust credit limits and terms based on customer performance, industry trends, and company policies
- Monitor ongoing credit risk, proactively managing credit exposure and making informed decisions to mitigate financial risk
- Maintain detailed and organized records of credit decisions, ensuring compliance with internal approval guidelines
- Manage assigned portfolio of accounts to ensure timely payments and reduce overdue balances
- Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices, payment discrepancies, and account issues to facilitate resolution
- Resolve billing disputes in coordination with sales, billing, logistics, and other internal teams
- Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate actions such as payment plans, holds, or legal review
- Track, analyze, and report on accounts receivable metrics, aging performance, and collection efforts
- Collaborate with sales teams to balance credit risk management with business growth opportunities
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining firm follow-through on payment obligations
- Support process improvements to enhance AR efficiency and credit risk management practices
