About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Reporting to the Director of Development & Infrastructure, this role involves collaborating with various teams across CFIB to translate complex business needs into effective technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem-solving, automation, and data analysis, utilizing AI and agentic tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work either from one of our offices or fully remotely, depending on your preference. You will play a critical role in supporting CFIB’s digital infrastructure, ensuring the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our enterprise applications and systems.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Approximately 2 years of relevant experience, including co-op, internship, academic projects, or early-career roles
- Experience with AI and agentic tools for analysis, automation, and solution development
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms, relational databases, SQL, and business applications
- Proficiency with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools
- Programming or scripting skills, with the ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and write code
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving tools and processes
- Experience supporting enterprise business applications and incident management is an asset
- Experience with AI-enabled projects, automations, workflows, or personal initiatives is an asset
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into practical, data-driven solutions within our CRM, reporting, and enterprise application ecosystems
- Utilize Claude and agentic coding tools for prototyping, coding, data interrogation, and reasoning validation
- Identify manual and repetitive processes, developing automations and agent-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and reliability
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver actionable insights to teams
- Write and optimize queries against relational databases to investigate data questions, validate solutions, and support reporting needs
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents impacting business applications, coordinating with IT and business teams to restore services promptly
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring and high-impact incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues
- Document technical solutions, processes, and root cause findings clearly for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing
- Challenge assumptions, ask clarifying questions, and recommend better options to optimize solutions and processes
