About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures that are robust, secure, and scalable on Google Cloud platforms. Your expertise will drive the development of complex ETL/ELT solutions using dbt on BigQuery and orchestrate workflows with Cloud Composer. You will define best practices for development processes, including CI/CD, testing, and data quality monitoring, ensuring the reliability and performance of our data platforms. As a mentor, you will support the growth of junior team members through code reviews, pair programming, and skill development initiatives. You will also modernize client data stacks and incorporate Generative AI services such as Vertex AI into production pipelines, pushing the boundaries of innovation. Your role involves collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet complex business challenges, all while maintaining high standards of security and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
- Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong knowledge of data architecture design, including Lakehouse and Mesh architectures
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes, particularly using dbt on BigQuery
- Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Cloud Composer
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices, testing, and Data Quality monitoring
- Experience with modern data stack tools such as Terraform, Dataflow, and Vertex AI
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and justify technological choices
- Strong mentoring and team leadership skills, with a passion for knowledge sharing
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive data architectures on Google Cloud, ensuring robustness, security, and scalability
- Lead the implementation of complex ETL/ELT workflows using dbt on BigQuery, and manage workflow orchestration via Cloud Composer
- Establish and enforce best practices for development, including CI/CD pipelines, testing, and Data Quality standards
- Monitor and optimize data platform performance, ensuring high availability and observability
- Mentor junior team members through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to modernize data stacks and integrate Generative AI services such as Vertex AI into production environments
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance solutions
- Participate in technical discussions, presentations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization and at industry events
