About The Role
As a Data Scientist at Trading & Optimization, you will operate at the intersection of energy and artificial intelligence, directly impacting the energy grid. Your primary responsibility will be designing and deploying probabilistic forecasting models that inform trading decisions in real-time. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising data scientists, engineers, and traders to develop integrated systems where forecasting, optimization, and control strategies reinforce each other. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule of 32-40 hours per week, with a competitive salary ranging from €4,000 to €6,000 gross per month.
Your work will involve building models that integrate weather forecasts, market prices, customer behavior, and the physical operation of assets like batteries, charging stations, and solar panels. You will ensure these models are production-ready, continuously monitored, and optimized for accuracy and reliability. By translating model performance into tangible commercial results, your contributions will help reduce trading costs and enhance the profitability of our energy assets, such as the Nexus home battery. Additionally, you will prepare our systems for a future without salderen (net metering), adapting models to evolving market regulations and translating technological advancements into practical applications. Staying at the forefront of AI and machine learning developments, you will proactively experiment with new techniques, including probabilistic forecasting, to improve our systems and processes.
