About The Role
As a Data Scientist at LuxExperience Group, you will play a vital role in leveraging data to support and enhance business decision-making processes across commercial and marketing teams. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with software developers to build scalable applications that utilize your data models, ensuring the deployment of production-grade code, and maintaining high standards of data quality and model performance. You will work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to promote a data-driven culture by delivering automated data products and insights that are accessible and actionable. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for operational improvements within the Data Science team, develop and deploy machine learning, recommendation, and Generative AI models, and monitor their effectiveness in real-world scenarios.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data science or related roles
- Proven track record of deploying at least 5 models in production that deliver consistent business value
- Working knowledge of Databricks & MLflow, LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain or LlamaIndex), and vector databases with embedding models
- Expert proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with PySpark, GIT, CICD, and Object-Oriented Programming principles
- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) and IDEs such as PyCharm or Visual Studio
- Strong foundation in statistical concepts including sampling, probability, hypothesis testing, and linear regression
- Deep understanding of key machine learning algorithms such as logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, and clustering techniques
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders in commercial and marketing teams to understand their data needs and provide innovative solutions
- Build, train, and deploy machine learning, recommendation, and Generative AI models in production environments
- Develop automated data pipelines and products that facilitate data accessibility and actionable insights
- Work alongside software developers to integrate data models into scalable applications and ensure their robustness
- Monitor model performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize models for improved accuracy and efficiency
- Identify opportunities to enhance team workflows through better data asset development and work practices
- Promote a data-driven culture within the organization by advocating best practices and data literacy
