About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory integrity, managing stock levels, processing repairs, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure seamless operations. Your primary focus will be on maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting procurement activities to keep the supply chain running smoothly. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications
Applicants should possess an associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos, as well as effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the ability to interpret graphs, are essential. Prior experience in inventory management, procurement, or related fields is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A team-oriented mindset, self-motivation, and outstanding interpersonal skills are highly desirable for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the integrity of inventory by maintaining accurate records and ensuring proper restocking of items.
- Process repairs for stock, manage storage, timestamp repair parts, and facilitate the delivery of component parts to technicians for repairs.
- Control inventory and materials from vendors, adhering to established departmental budgets. Propose adjustments to stock and reorder levels to optimize inventory management.
- Monitor stock levels, process requisitions, and enter order and stocking data into tracking systems. Expedite late material orders and follow up on pending deliveries.
- Maintain cross-reference systems for optimal usage and track nonconforming parts, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
- Collaborate closely with department managers and supervisors to stay within budget and resolve inventory discrepancies during semi-annual physical inventories.
- Work with accounting and auditors to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Participate in training programs focused on purchasing professionalism, supervisory skills, and management development.
- Source and evaluate vendors capable of supplying plant-level services, negotiating terms to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Follow up on past due orders, reducing purchase order expediting (POE) and invoice discrepancies through proactive activities.
- Implement and report on cost reduction initiatives, striving for continuous improvement in inventory and procurement processes.
- Assist Customer Service and Operations teams with parts transactions within the system, ensuring efficient service delivery.
- Initiate warranty claims with OEMs for defective parts and monitor resolution timelines.
- Participate in Service and Quality initiatives, employing quantitative methods to monitor and improve processes. Adhere to safety procedures and company core values at all times.
