About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to join our team at Alignity. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex cloud security operations within Azure environments, supporting our clients' hybrid and cloud-native infrastructures. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and enhancing the security posture of cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot security issues, implement security controls, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for professionals looking to leverage their expertise in cloud security, automation, and compliance to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in information technology and/or information security, with a focus on cloud security.
- Proficiency in major public cloud platforms, particularly Azure, with a solid understanding of security controls, firewalls, VPCs, and network security groups.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory requirements such as NIST, CIS, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Experience with security incident management, SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Elastic Stack), and log analysis.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation, and secure SDLC pipelines.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents, and access requests within defined SLAs, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of complex issues.
- Investigate suspicious activities, unauthorized access, malware indicators, and policy violations to mitigate risks effectively.
- Configure and troubleshoot Azure security controls, including firewalls, network security groups, VPNs, and port access rules to maintain a secure environment.
- Support whitelist requests, security exception processes, and manage cloud application access to ensure operational continuity without compromising security.
- Perform connectivity troubleshooting across Azure resources, virtual networks, endpoints, and enterprise networks to ensure seamless operation.
- Review security logs from SIEM, firewalls, endpoints, and native cloud tools; escalate high-impact issues as necessary.
- Manage ServiceNow incidents and requests, maintaining accurate documentation and resolution records.
- Assist in vulnerability assessments, patch management, and security control testing to uphold security standards.
- Support identity and access management practices, including role-based access control and periodic reviews of privileged accounts.
- Conduct configuration reviews of hybrid cloud environments against security standards and architecture best practices.
- Maintain and optimize security management tools to enhance operational visibility, compliance, and security posture.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, endpoint, and security teams to resolve cross-functional issues efficiently.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and automation scripts to streamline security operations.
- Identify recurring issues through trend analysis and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and shift-based support to ensure 24/7 security coverage.
- Contribute to security architecture reviews and provide recommendations for continuous security enhancements.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in cloud security to ensure proactive security management.
