About The Role
The Lead Business Analyst role at Medidata is a vital position within our dynamic team, supporting a suite of products focused on medical imaging collection and analysis for clinical trials and healthcare applications. This position offers flexibility in location, with options to work remotely or from our Mason, Ohio office. The role involves collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders, including product managers, software engineers, quality assurance teams, and business experts, to enhance our imaging solutions. The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for understanding complex systems architecture, translating business needs into technical requirements, and overseeing the development and integration of features that improve our platform’s capabilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of influencing management and driving process improvements to maximize business performance. The position also involves managing project resources, ensuring timely delivery of software releases, and maintaining comprehensive documentation and user training materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4+ years of experience in business analysis within technology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries
- Proven expertise in leading and developing product documentation for complex software projects
- Experience working with medical imaging systems and clinical trial data
- Deep understanding of systems architecture, including networks, databases, and workflows
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Rally)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to executive-level stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of regulations related to clinical trial data and healthcare compliance
- Active participation in industry forums and thought leadership in software development or clinical research
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with users across various departments to gather, analyze, and document business processes and requirements
- Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications to guide development teams
- Engage with IT and technical teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs into system designs and enhancements
- Manage project activities by delegating tasks, tracking progress, and providing regular status updates
- Define and validate acceptance criteria to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards
- Influence management to adopt process improvements and technological enhancements for better business outcomes
- Understand and contribute to complex systems architecture, ensuring efficient system integration and data flow
- Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate relevant innovations into the product roadmap
- Monitor project scope, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure timely software releases
- Train end-users, develop comprehensive documentation, and support change management initiatives
- Contribute to defining product and solution roadmaps aligned with business goals
