About The Role
WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking an experienced Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role is pivotal in leading complex network engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful delivery of network solutions aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader within the delivery team, guiding engineers, designing scalable network architectures, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet strategic objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for seasoned network professionals to contribute to high-impact projects in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of demonstrable experience in designing, leading, and implementing complex network solutions within regulated industries or large enterprise environments. Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at Certified Technical Specialist level are highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to consolidate knowledge from multiple sources into cohesive, end-to-end solutions. Experience operating as a lead engineer on large programs, providing progress updates to senior leadership, and managing multiple stakeholders is essential.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert in multiple network technologies, such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, Fortinet, and others. The engineer will scope, plan, and lead large transformational programs and network initiatives, ensuring designs adhere to architectural standards and compliance requirements. They will develop low-level design documentation, oversee implementation, and work closely with global support teams to transition solutions into operational support. Additionally, the role involves managing stakeholder relationships, providing timely project updates, and escalating issues when necessary. The engineer will also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, making well-judged decisions to improve project delivery and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
