About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SAS Programmer to join our dynamic team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supporting, analyzing, and modernizing enterprise SAS environments. This role involves working with large-scale data processing systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with various database platforms such as Oracle and Teradata. The candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our data infrastructure, supporting batch processing workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that utilize cloud platforms like GCP or Azure, as well as emerging AI and LLM technologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 4+ years of experience in SAS programming, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise environments. Proficiency in supporting, analyzing, and modernizing SAS systems—including Base SAS, SQL, Macros, Unix, and batch processing with Autosys—is essential. Candidates should have a strong background in database management, specifically with Oracle and Teradata, including SQL query development, performance tuning, and production support. A relevant educational background or equivalent professional experience in software engineering or related fields is required. Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Azure, along with Python scripting, is desirable. Additionally, familiarity with AI/LLMs, prompt engineering, and enterprise governance practices will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain enterprise SAS environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Analyze existing SAS workflows and scripts to identify areas for modernization and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement new SAS programs, macros, and SQL queries to support business analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with database administrators to support Oracle and Teradata databases, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Manage batch processing workflows using Autosys, ensuring timely execution and error resolution.
- Assist in migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure, integrating SAS and other data services.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving AI/LLMs, contributing to prompt engineering and output validation processes.
- Document technical specifications, procedures, and best practices to support ongoing system maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.
