About The Role

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer within the Predictive Models team at HubSpot, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our AI-driven insights. This team is part of the AI Foundations Group and works in close collaboration with the Predictive AI Platform team to develop advanced predictive models, scoring systems, and recommendation engines. Your expertise will drive the development of next-generation solutions that enhance product capabilities and deliver measurable impact across the organization. In this senior individual contributor role, you will leverage your deep understanding of machine learning techniques to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and influence strategic decisions. You will be hands-on in coding, designing scalable architectures, and ensuring the deployment of reliable, secure, and efficient models that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

- Proven track record of delivering high-impact, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment

- Strong desire to remain hands-on with technical work while providing strategic guidance

- Experience developing solutions that significantly influence organizational goals

- Ability to provide strategic direction for complex projects

- Mentorship experience, guiding and teaching engineering teams

- Pragmatic problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Expertise in machine learning techniques such as deep learning, transformers, transfer learning, regression, and ranking

- Proficiency with ML tools and frameworks including scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.

- Strong understanding of ML architecture design tailored to business needs

- Ability to analyze both offline and online metrics, considering privacy, bias, security, and maintainability

- Passion for building scalable, reliable AI systems

- Deep knowledge of predictive AI concepts like recommendation systems, classification, and relevancy ranking

- Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills

- Embodies core engineering values such as integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced predictive models and AI solutions

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective machine learning solutions
