About Us
IAG Defence & National Security (DNS) is part of IAG, a specialist advisory firm supporting complex infrastructure, Defence and national security programs across Australia. Our DNS team works closely with Commonwealth agencies and industry partners to deliver specialist expertise into nationally significant programs. Our success depends on our ability to identify, engage and mobilise highly specialised talent quickly and effectively. IAG is recognised as a Veteran Friendly Employer under the Veteran Employment Program.

The Role
We're looking for an experienced ICT Project Manager to join a Defence communications program in Canberra, providing project management support to the Integrated Project Manager and Deputy Integrated Project Manager. This is a great opportunity for a project professional to take ownership of ICT-specific project delivery — tracking progress, managing risk and coordinating across a broad range of technical and security stakeholders.
You'll work closely with subject matter experts and the Project Security Manager, balancing day-to-day project administration with genuine ICT risk management across cyber security, interoperability, information assurance and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide ICT project management support to senior project leadership, developing and maintaining project documentation and artefacts

- Track project progress against timelines, milestones and budgets, recommending corrective actions where needed

- Identify, monitor and manage project risks and issues, including cyber security, interoperability, information assurance and technical obsolescence risks

- Facilitate project meetings, prepare status reports and presentations for senior leadership

- Engage with subject matter experts on CDRL reviews, systems engineering and security accreditation activities

- Support project procurement activities, including vendor contract management and compliance

- Manage ICT-specific project dependencies, interfaces and integration activities across Defence stakeholders

- Work collaboratively with the Project Security Manager on security accreditation, information assurance and cyber security activities

- Identify opportunities to improve project governance and ICT-related project processes

Required

- Current NV1 security clearance

- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or a related field, with current project management experience

- Knowledge of and experience in the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and ASDEFCON

- Demonstrated experience developing, planning and delivering projects, including ICT-enabled projects

- Strong knowledge of Defence Financial, Procurement and Risk Management principles

- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills within an Integrated Working Group environment

- Understanding of Defence ICT governance, system integration and capability delivery processes

- Knowledge of cyber security governance requirements and their application within Defence ICT projects

- Relevant certifications (e.g. CPPM, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL) and experience in Defence Digital Group, CIOG, JCG or CASG ICT acquisition environments highly regarded

Salary
$151,740 - $156,740 (incl. Super), pro rata for the duration of this engagement
