For our client, we are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Localization to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will focus on advancing machine learning systems that support localization, ego-motion estimation, and sensor fusion for autonomous vehicle applications. You will work across data, model development, and production software to improve performance, robustness, and validation in real-world driving conditions. The position also partners closely with cross-functional engineering teams to bring high-performing localization capabilities into production.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $177,300 – $212,800 annually

Responsibilities

- Design and deploy ML models for ego-motion estimation and localization

- Develop scalable training workflows using PyTorch and real-world datasets

- Improve state estimation and sensor fusion algorithms for vehicle dynamics

- Analyze vehicle data to drive model and system enhancements

- Develop production software in C++ and Python across the development lifecycle

- Define validation strategies for localization under diverse conditions

- Make technical decisions balancing performance and production needs

- Collaborate across teams to integrate autonomous driving capabilities

Qualifications

- Bachelor's in CS, Software Engineering, Robotics, or related field with 6+ years of experience, Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year

- Experience with AV or robotics localization systems, including LiDAR, visual odometry, and SLAM

- Strong experience developing and deploying ML models for perception and sensor fusion

- Proficient in PyTorch and ML tooling for training and optimization

- Solid understanding of 3D geometry and probabilistic estimation principles

- Experience with large multimodal datasets and scalable processing pipelines

- Strong fundamentals in Python and C++, with emphasis on algorithms and performance optimization
