Job Summary:
The Senior System Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise IT systems. This role ensures system reliability, scalability, and security while aligning technology solutions with business objectives. The Senior Engineer acts as a subject matter expert, mentor, and strategic advisor to both technical teams and management.
Job Description:
Systems Strategy & Architecture
- Lead the evaluation, design, and deployment of enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Recommend and implement advanced hardware and software solutions to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
- Develop long-term IT strategies and roadmaps for infrastructure growth and modernization.
Project Leadership
- Oversee approval processes and governance for IT projects, ensuring compliance with best practices and standards.
- Provide technical leadership in system upgrades, migrations, and integrations across PeopleSoft and other enterprise platforms.
- Deliver technical product presentations, proofs of concept, and guide implementations.
Technical Expertise & Support
- Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise applications and emerging technologies.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex system, network, and application issues.
- Ensure endpoint security and deliver day-to-day support for critical business systems.
Performance & Optimization
- Conduct continuous reviews of system performance, recommending improvements to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Monitor IT assets, system databases, and inventory to ensure optimal utilization and compliance.
- Implement proactive measures to minimize risks and maintain high availability of IT services.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless IT solutions that support business operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical best practices.
- Communicate system status, risks, and recommendations to management through regular reporting.
Confidentiality & Security
- Uphold strict confidentiality and security standards in handling client and company information.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.
