Databricks Architect

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Databricks Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of modern data platforms using Databricks Lakehouse architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud-based data engineering, big data technologies, and enterprise data modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions using Databricks.
- Architect end-to-end data platforms leveraging Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
- Lead data migration and modernization projects from legacy platforms to Databricks.
- Define data governance, security, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Design and optimize batch and real-time data processing pipelines.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Establish best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, cost optimization, and platform scalability.
- Drive adoption of CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation practices.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.
- Support solution estimation, architecture reviews, and client discussions.
Required Skills &Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Data Architecture.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
Strong expertise in:
- Databricks Lakehouse Platform
- Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala)
- Delta Lake
- Spark SQL
- Data Modeling
- ETL/ELT Design Patterns
Experience with cloud platforms such as:
- Microsoft Azure (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and modern data architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale data migration programs.
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or equivalent certification.
- Cloud certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with Unity Catalog, MLflow, and Databricks Workflows.
- Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka, Event Hubs, or Kinesis.
- Experience in customer-facing consulting or architecture roles.
