Lead Talend Developer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Talend Lead to drive end-to-end data integration and ETL delivery
across complex enterprise environments. The role involves designing and developing scalable data
pipelines, ensuring strong data governance practices, managing deployments, and supporting
production stability. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Talend Data Integration, SQL, data
pipeline development, and ETL architecture, along with hands-on experience supporting testing
cycles, production deployments, and post-go-live stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
ETL Development & Data Integration
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end Talend ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise data integration initiatives.
- Perform data mapping, schema validation, and transformation logic implementation across multiple data sources.
- Build scalable pipelines ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and governance standards across pipelines.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Enforce data quality frameworks and validation rules to maintain high data integrity.
- Implement PII masking and compliance controls aligned with financial and regulatory standards.
- Ensure consistent data lineage, schema standards, and governance practices.
CI/CD & Environment Management
- Manage ETL deployments using Talend Administration Center (TAC).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, deployment, and release management.
- Maintain version control and ensure environment consistency across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production.
Testing & Validation
- Conduct Unit Testing (UT) for Talend components and transfer
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) ensuring seamless data flow across financial systems.
- Work closely with business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to resolve data issues and defects.
- Manage test data provisioning and environment refresh cycles to replicate production scenarios.
Deployment & Release Management
- Execute production releases through formal IT Change Management processes including Change Requests and CAB approvals.
- Lead cutover planning and production deployments, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Maintain documented rollback and back-out strategies for all production releases.
Post-Production Support & Optimization
- Provide hypercare support for 4–6 weeks post go-live to address critical production issues.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-severity incidents and implement preventive fixes.
- Monitor and optimize ETL job performance based on production data volumes.
- Deliver runbooks, operational documentation, and knowledge transfer to BAU support teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Data Integration / ETL Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration and ETL pipeline development.
- Excellent SQL and database performance optimization skills.
- Experience with Talend Administration Center (TAC) and deployment automation.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and PII masking.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and production deployments in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and perform Root Cause Analysis.
Good to Have
- Experience working with financial or regulatory data environments.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms or modern data engineering ecosystems
