What you'll do

- Lay out, install, repair, and maintain advanced electrical systems and control circuits across the plant.

- Diagnose faults and restore operations quickly to avoid production interruptions.

- Execute planned preventive and corrective maintenance to extend asset life.

- Champion OSHA and company safety standards on every task.

- Read and apply detailed electrical drawings and schematics.

- Collaborate across departments; contribute to continuous improvement projects.

- Use strong critical thinking to solve technical problems under time pressure.

What you bring

- 6+ years of relevant electrical experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade.

- 18 years of age or older.

- Ability to work day, afternoon, or night shifts; available for overtime, weekends, and holidays with minimal notice.

- Current GM team members under a collective bargaining agreement should consult local HR/LR about placement opportunities.

Compensation and benefits

Depending on credentials and interview results, you may start as a Journeyperson In Training (JIT) at $37.78 – $44.08/hour or as a Journeyperson at $44.98/hour. GM UAW hourly roles include competitive pay and benefits, plus eligibility for an annual incentive payout for qualified employees.

Physical demands

- React quickly to alarms and safety instructions.

- Stand for extended periods; occasional seated tasks.

- Comfortably use required PPE.

- Navigate an active production environment; operate mobile equipment as needed.

- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach; lift/carry up to 50 lbs. depending on department.

- Relocation and travel expenses are the applicant’s responsibility.

- In alignment with our labor agreement, applicant credentials may be shared with designated UAW skilled trades personnel who have a need to know.
