MAU MARINE JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Accounting and Business Operations Intern- PAID
OVERVIEW: The Accounting and Business Operations Intern position is responsible for performing general reconciliations on various business processes (i.e. gift cards, fuel sales), assist with ad-hoc inventory checks and inventory clean-up, and assist with statement generation and mailing. The Accounting and Business Operations Intern must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine’s mission.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Head Controller
Key Internal Relationships: Head Accountant and Accountant
Direct Reports: None
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

Perform daily cash reconciliations

Create daily bank deposits and change orders

Develop and generate reports from EVO and other web-based systems
-
Accumulate and enter data into excel spreadsheets for daily, weekly, and monthly reports

Perform general reconciliations on various business processes (i.e. gift cards, fuel sales)

Analyze and report on discounts and refunds
-
Assist with ad-hoc inventory checks and inventory clean-up
-
Perform general filing
-
Assist with statement generation and mailing
-
Assist in Mau Marine special events as needed
-
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:

Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or a related field
-
Basic understanding of accounting principles is preferred

Ability to maintain accurate records
-
Excellent organizational and communication skills
-
Detail-oriented and multi-tasking skills
-
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel
-
Maintains regular and punctual attendance. Works extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs
