JOB TITLE: Marina Operations Intern

OVERVIEW: The Marina Operations Intern position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Sales and Service departments, aiding Service Technicians with boat launching, movement, and other operational tasks as needed, and assist with customer deliveries and help new boat owners become comfortable with their boats. The Marina Operations Intern must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine’s mission.

MAU MISSION: Mau Marine will make absolutely every aspect of the boating experience easy and enjoyable for our customers. We will do this through an expert team of marine professionals dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in customer satisfaction.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Sales Manager

Key Internal Relationships: Service Manager, Salesmen, Service Advisors, Technicians, etc.

Direct Reports: None

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

Support the daily operations of the Sales and Service departments.

Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with their boating needs.

Create and maintain visually appealing displays of boats and watercraft throughout the dealership.

Assist sales staff by engaging with customers, answering basic questions, and directing customers to the appropriate salesperson.

-
Launch, dock, and retrieve boats for customer demonstrations and service needs.

-
Assist with boat deliveries, drop-offs, and pick-ups both on the water and by trailer.

-
Assist with towing, trailering, launching, docking, and handling various types of boats.

-
Aid Service Technicians with boat launching, movement, and other operational tasks as needed.

-
Assist with minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks under supervision.

-
Help ensure boats are clean, prepared, fueled, and ready for customers.

-
Support the management of service-related inventory and supplies.

-
Assist with customer deliveries and help new boat owners become comfortable with their boats.

-
Assist at Mau Marine and The Okoboji Store events as needed.

-
Work as part of a team to keep daily marina operations running smoothly and efficiently.

-
Adapt to additional duties and tasks as directed by management, demonstrating versatility, initiative, and a proactive attitude.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

A genuine passion for boating and an interest in the marine industry.

Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to provide exceptional customer service.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Ability to work outdoors and remain active throughout the workday.

Experience driving, docking, trailering, and handling boats is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years old with a clean driving record, meeting legal requirements for operating vehicles.
