MAU MARINE JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Social Media Intern
OVERVIEW: The Social Media Intern position is responsible for assisting in marketing efforts including company events both at Mau Marine and The Okoboji Store and daily presentation, work closely with the marketing team to support the development and execution of marketing campaigns while tracking and analyzing performance metrics, and contribute to the planning and execution of social media strategies. The Social Media Intern must be professional, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold Mau Marine’s mission.
MAU MISSION: Mau Marine will make absolutely every aspect of the boating experience easy and enjoyable for our customers. We will do this through an expert team of marine professionals dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in customer satisfaction.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Owner
Key Internal Relationships: Marketing Manager, Event Manager, Restaurant Managers, Marina Pro Shop Manager
Direct Reports: None
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

Assist in creating engaging and compelling content for various marketing channels, including social media, blog posts, and email campaigns

Contribute to the planning and execution of social media strategies, including content scheduling, monitoring, and engagement

Assist in conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices

Work closely with the marketing team to support the development and execution of marketing campaigns, tracking and analyzing performance metrics.

Assist in marketing efforts including company events both at Mau Marine and The Okoboji Store and daily presentation
-
Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials such as flyers and updating the company websites
-
Assist coordinating seasonal staff photo shoots and videography for socials
-
Provide daily assistance and support in all marketing projects
-
Work Mau Marine special events as needed
-
Other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:

Pursuing a degree in Marketing or other related field
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset
-
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing trends
-
Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe; with graphic design tools is a plus
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Prior retail, advertising, and marketing experience is not required but a plus
