Duties

- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Ethernet, fiber optic, Cat5, Cat6, and low-voltage electrical wiring in data center environments

- Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-speed data transmission integrity

- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment to troubleshoot network wiring and equipment issues

- Conduct cable management tasks following schematics and industry standards to maintain organized and efficient cable layouts

- Assist with the setup and configuration of networking equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telecommunication hardware

- Perform routine inspections of cabling infrastructure using CCTV surveillance, RF testing, and other diagnostic tools to identify potential issues

- Support equipment repair and maintenance activities for telecommunications systems, computer hardware, and network components

Requirements

- Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role within data centers or telecommunications environments

- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), and network wiring practices

- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic systems installation, and telecommunications testing equipmen

- Ability to read schematics accurately and follow detailed installation procedures

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and cable termination equipment

- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in technical settings

- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel between job sites as needed

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
