About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer to join our Product Team at RND Fortis GmbH. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing our digital journalism offerings and regional brands through strategic and user-centered design. Your responsibilities will encompass developing innovative prototypes, visualizations, and UX strategies that make our digital products more engaging, accessible, and competitive. Working closely with front-end developers, stakeholders, and research teams, you will ensure that our design standards are maintained and continuously improved. Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a professional or academic background in Design, Media Design, Software Development, or a related field with a focus on digital design. You bring several years of experience in designing digital products, ideally within journalism or digital media sectors. Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Jira, Slack, Adobe Creative Suite, and Asana is essential. You have a proven track record of organizing and executing user research projects, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, with a strong ability to translate insights into actionable design decisions. Familiarity with AI-powered design tools like Claude, Figma AI, and Large Language Models is a plus. Excellent communication skills in German (minimum C1 level) are required to effectively collaborate and present your ideas to diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test prototypes, visualizations, and UX strategies to improve user experience and product competitiveness.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to create and refine components for our design system, ensuring consistency and usability.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and testing, and synthesize findings to inform design decisions.
- Review and update design standards and contribute to the development of comprehensive design systems and guidelines.
- Engage with stakeholders and external partners to present concepts, gather feedback, and coordinate project workflows.
- Participate actively in product planning, reviews, retrospectives, and refinement sessions to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Support visual design tasks, including creating graphics and visual assets as needed for digital platforms.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies in digital design and incorporate innovative approaches into your work.
