About The Role
WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking a highly skilled Lead / (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned networking professional to lead complex network projects, contribute to architectural standards, and guide engineering teams in delivering innovative solutions. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, overseeing end-to-end project execution, designing scalable network infrastructure, and ensuring seamless transition into operational support. This position requires a proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and extensive technical expertise in multiple network technologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and leading complex network solutions within regulated industries or large enterprise environments. Certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at Certified Technical Specialist level are advantageous. A deep understanding of multiple network technologies, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to workload management are essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to consolidate knowledge from various sources into comprehensive end-to-end solutions and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Lead or Senior Engineer within the Complex Delivery team, providing expert guidance on network design and implementation.
- Contribute to engineering and architectural standards, producing detailed low-level designs aligned with organizational guidelines.
- Lead delivery on large transformational programs by guiding engineering teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Design, build, and deploy scalable network infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and support organizational growth.
- Work collaboratively with global support teams to transition solutions into operational environments, ensuring smooth handovers and ongoing support.
- Maintain compliance with governance, change management, risk, and audit requirements across all network disciplines.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate project activities, provide progress updates, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Develop accurate workload estimates and delivery timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Apply strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize network performance, and implement effective solutions.
- Make informed, confident decisions throughout the project lifecycle to mitigate risks and improve delivery outcomes.
- Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies, supporting the company's risk management framework.
