Senior Project Manager – IT
Location: Berlin, Germany
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex IT projects, managing scope, budget, timelines, quality, resources and stakeholder expectations from initiation through to successful closure.
You will work across international, cross-functional teams and collaborate with business and IT leadership, security teams, architects, internal IT functions and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, delivery and closure of IT projects.
- Own project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies and quality.
- Build and coordinate international, cross-functional project teams.
- Manage stakeholders and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate interfaces and dependencies across business and technology teams.
- Manage third-party suppliers, procurement and project-related contracts where required.
- Provide clear project reporting, including highlight reports to IT leadership and sponsors.
- Maintain a strong customer and end-user focus throughout delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes and ways of working.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Substantial experience in IT project management, ideally across multiple clients or complex environments.
- Proven experience managing scope, planning, budget, risks, dependencies, procurement and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience leading cross-functional and international teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, databases and data centre operations.
- Awareness of information security and cybersecurity principles.
- Understanding of system architecture, software development processes and QA methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, Trello or Asana.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Document Management solutions.
- Knowledge or practical exposure to Microsoft Azure, collaboration services and Active Directory.
- Previous experience in energy or utility organisations.
- Experience delivering particularly complex or multi-stream IT programmes.
- Basic understanding of programming/development concepts.
- Relevant project management certification is advantageous.
