## About the Role
IBM is seeking a Visual Designer Intern for its Summer 2027 internship program. The intern will join IBM's Performance Marketing and internal creative teams to help transform complex ideas and content into clear, compelling brand experiences. This role offers hands-on design experience, collaboration with strategists and creative leaders, mentorship, leadership exposure, and educational, networking, and social activities.
## Key Responsibilities
* Produce visual design deliverables across print, digital, online, and multimedia formats.
* Bring abstract concepts to life through typography, illustration, iconography, and photography.
* Contribute to style guides, UI toolkits, and other design documentation.
* Communicate conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale verbally and visually.
* Collaborate on integrated brand-to-demand messaging and content plans.
* Support the development of messaging and content that reaches the right audiences at the right time.
* Prepare, recommend, and test creative solutions to engage IBM audiences.
* Support brand and content strategy deliverables.
* Research IBM's market, target audiences, and product offerings.
* Help create compelling stories about IBM technologies and the people using them.
* Work collaboratively with strategists, designers, producers, creative directors, stakeholders, and technical teams.
* Incorporate feedback and creative direction into design iterations.
## Required Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in an accredited university.
* Basic design experience across multiple media.
* Portfolio demonstrating design work relevant to the role.
* Basic experience with Figma.
* Passion for problem-solving and idea generation.
* Willingness to actively seek feedback and review work.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, partners, and other designers.
* Passionate, confident, empathetic, positive, and approachable working style.

* Currently enrolled in an accredited university.

## Work Arrangement & Schedule
* **Work Arrangement:** Hybrid
* **Location:** New York, NY, US
* Required to work in the office at least 3 days per week.
