## About the Role
Boeing is seeking an **F-15 Real-Time Principal Software Engineer – Mission Systems** to join its Mission Systems Software Team in **Berkeley, Missouri**.
The team develops real-time embedded **Operational Flight Program (OFP)** software for the F-15 Mission Computer. This software supports aircraft mission capabilities by interfacing with avionics subsystems such as radar, weapons, and sensors, while also implementing algorithms and crew vehicle interface displays.
The Principal Software Engineer will lead engineers developing and maintaining mission computing solutions for current and future U.S. Air Force (USAF) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The role requires strong experience in real-time software development, avionics software, embedded systems, and technical leadership.
## Key Responsibilities
* Develop technical designs and implement **Operational Flight Program (OFP)** software solutions.
* Provide technical oversight and guidance for development approaches and F-15 Mission Computing OFP code.
* Lead and guide junior engineers in their day-to-day technical work.
* Develop and maintain software solutions supporting OFPs delivered to warfighting customers.
* Collaborate with F-15 Software Architects to develop preferred approaches for future Mission Computing architectures.
* Support software design, implementation, integration, and testing.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of software and system requirements.
* Work with customers, stakeholders, software architects, and engineering peers.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships across technical and customer teams.
* Support evolving F-15 Mission Computing architectures for USAF and FMS customers.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree.
* **10+ years of professional experience** with one or more of the following:
* C
* C++
* C#
* Python
* Java
* Ada
* **10+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)**, including:
* Requirements analysis
* Software design
* Coding
* Integration
* Testing
* **5+ years of experience** with software development and testing tools, including editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulations, configuration management tools, and requirements management tools.
* Experience with software lifecycle practices and **Agile methodology**.
* Experience using repositories and development tools such as **JIRA and Git**.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in:

* **14+ years of related work experience** with a qualifying technical B.S., or **18+ years of directly related work experience** with a bachelor's degree, or **22+ years of related and relevant experience**.
* Experience developing or testing real-time integrated avionics hardware/software systems for high-performance aircraft, spacecraft, or similar platforms.
* Experience with **embedded software architecture, development, and design**.
* Experience developing software on **Linux and Windows** platforms.
* Experience with Open Architecture standards such as **Open Mission Systems (OMS)**.
* Experience with real-time embedded software and avionics systems.
* Experience providing technical leadership and guidance to software engineering teams.

## Compensation
**$164,000–$292,000 per year**
