## About the Role

As a **Senior Backend Engineer within Reddit’s Ads Organization**, you’ll help build the systems and products that power Reddit’s advertising business and mission.
This is a **Generalist Senior Backend Engineer** role. You may work across advertiser-facing products, distributed systems, interactive ad experiences, real-time campaign measurement, and supporting infrastructure. Successful candidates will be able to take complete ownership of features or projects, collaborate closely with product, platform, and data teams, and build extensible, reliable backend systems aligned with product objectives.
## Key Responsibilities
- Work with product managers to design and implement Ads products.
- Build microservices and APIs that power Reddit’s advertiser-facing product, ads.reddit.com.
- Develop distributed systems that ensure the right ad is shown to the right user at the right time.
- Build backend systems that power interactive advertising experiences such as Polls and Games.
- Develop real-time, data-intensive systems for measuring ad campaign performance.
- Build and maintain infrastructure supporting Reddit’s Ads systems and products.
- Collaborate closely with platform and data teams while building new features.
- Lead processes that improve operational stability, including improving code quality and delivering dashboards and data visualizations.
- Build extensible components that align with product objectives.
- Support day-to-day project management, including communicating project updates, managing project timelines, and overseeing project execution.
- Take complete ownership of assigned features or projects.

## Compensation & Benefits
- **Base salary:** $190,800–$267,100 USD.
