2. About the Role
Red Cedar Consultancy, LLC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and microservices.
This role spans the full software development lifecycle and requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, microservices, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, product owners, QA engineers, DevSecOps engineers, stakeholders, and other development teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
The position involves working in a containerized cloud environment, supporting application modernization, resolving complex technical challenges, and implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
3. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and microservices.
Develop and maintain enterprise applications and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Build responsive web applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Apply microservices design and development practices within containerized cloud environments.
Analyze and resolve complex technical problems, evolving requirements, application defects, and production incidents.
Troubleshoot application performance issues and identify opportunities for optimization.
Support application modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy technologies to modern Java and cloud-native architectures.
Collaborate across multiple Agile Scrum teams and continuously engage with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices to support reliable software delivery.
Work with DevSecOps teams to establish automated quality and security gates throughout the development lifecycle.
Prepare technical studies, analyses, and written deliverables addressing complex problems and recommending potential solutions.
Support tiger teams established to address critical or highly complex technical issues.
Collaborate with leadership to define project objectives, processes, policies, procedures, and expected deliverables.
Communicate project goals, technical findings, and expected outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
Validate project data and information for accuracy.
Produce high-quality written and oral deliverables with minimal technical guidance and oversight.
Apply secure software development, automated testing, and continuous improvement practices.
4. Required Qualifications
10+ years of professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or higher.
Strong experience with Java 8, 11, 17, and/or 21.
Strong experience with Spring Boot and RESTful web services.
Strong experience developing applications with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with Jenkins or comparable CI/CD tooling.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and development.
Experience working in containerized cloud environments.
Ability to analyze and resolve highly complex technical problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across development, QA, architecture, security, product, and DevSecOps teams.
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
5. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with VMware Tanzu and other DevSecOps technologies.
Experience with BI tools, XML, ADSO, ASP/JSP, JCL, J2EE, and PHP.
Experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
Experience with Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps platforms.
Experience with SonarQube and automated code-quality and security scanning.
Experience with New Relic or similar application performance monitoring tools.
Experience supporting applications in regulated or government environments.
Knowledge of secure software development and automated testing practices.
Experience with application modernization and migration from legacy technologies.
Strong understanding of Agile development and Scrum methodologies.
