VP, Preconstruction | Data Center Construction

The Role
We’re supporting a leading data center developer with a growing North American portfolio in hiring a VP, Preconstruction to lead and scale its national preconstruction organization.
This is a true VP-level leadership role, responsible for preconstruction strategy, estimating, budgeting, cost controls, and building high-performing teams across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the North American preconstruction organization.
- Set strategy across estimating, budgeting, cost controls, and project planning.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing preconstruction teams.
- Establish consistent cost metrics, processes, and best practices across the portfolio.
- Partner with development, design, construction, and executive leadership teams.
- Provide senior-level oversight of project budgets, estimates, schedules, and commercial strategy.
- Drive consistency and accountability across preconstruction activities nationwide.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of construction / preconstruction experience, including significant preconstruction leadership.
- Proven experience leading national preconstruction teams and organizations.
- Deep expertise in estimating, budget development, cost controls, and cost metrics.
- Proven track record building and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience within a data center, hyperscale, mission-critical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong preference for candidates from data center developers/operators or large national GCs with established preconstruction functions.
- Strong executive communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Owner/developer-side preconstruction experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale data center or hyperscale programs.
- Experience leading preconstruction across a national portfolio.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Denver-based preferred
