Senior Electrical Engineer – Water/Wastewater
Overview
An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure projects. This position is suited to a technically strong professional with hands-on experience in power system design and a passion for leading projects from concept through to construction.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in medium- and low-voltage systems, along with a strong understanding of power distribution, system integration, and operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, contribute to high-impact projects, and support the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
- Oversee the preparation of construction and procurement documentation
- Develop and review proposals, engineering reports, and cost estimates
- Perform detailed electrical analyses to support design and construction activities
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, facilitating technical discussions and project coordination
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
- Support projects through all phases, from early-stage planning to final delivery
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering power systems design for infrastructure or industrial projects
- Strong technical knowledge of systems such as generators, switchgear, protective relaying, and electrical distribution (medium and low voltage)
- Familiarity with control systems, lighting design, and overall electrical system integration
- Ability to produce and review detailed electrical specifications
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience within a consulting, A/E, or MEP environment
- Exposure to water or wastewater projects is advantageous but not essential
Compensation
Base salary goes north of $130k depending on the successful candidate's experience and what they bring to the table. Further details to be shared over first conversation.
