About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the F-15 Mission System Software Development Team based in Berkeley, MO. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated real-time embedded software for the F-15 Operational Flight Program (OFP). The successful candidate will work within an agile, multidisciplinary team to develop new capabilities for the aircraft’s mission systems, ensuring integration with various subsystems and adherence to rigorous safety and performance standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technology supporting both U.S. Air Force and international clients. The role is ideal for engineers passionate about aerospace, embedded systems, and software development, seeking to grow into technical leadership roles while working on some of the most advanced military aircraft in the world.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, or related fields, along with relevant experience in software development. Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. A minimum of 2 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada, and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with embedded real-time software, Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), and familiarity with Agile/SAFe development methodologies. Candidates with extensive experience in DevOps tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, and Artifactory will have an advantage. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for complex software systems.

- Design, develop, and integrate software components into fully functional systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

- Create and execute software verification plans, including test procedures and environments, and document results to validate system requirements.

- Conduct research and development activities related to software innovations and enhancements.

- Serve as a subject matter expert for specific software domains, providing guidance on system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.

- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues efficiently, ensuring system reliability and performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with aircraft subsystems and other platform components.

- Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, code, and testing activities for compliance and knowledge transfer.
