Company Description Self-employed Football Coaches operate independently, offering tailored coaching services to players and teams across different age groups and skill levels. This setup allows for flexible program design, personalized training plans, and close collaboration with clients to meet specific performance goals. Coaches typically build their own client base, manage their schedules, and develop their own coaching methodologies. The environment encourages initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt to various playing styles and learning needs.
Role Description This is a volunteer to start but possibly up to £30 per session this partly funded from our partnerships on-site Football Coach role based in southampton and will approx three 90 minutes per session , possible further work as from Febuary 2027 up to fifteen hours per week. The coach will plan and deliver football training sessions, focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness, fitness, and teamwork for individuals or groups. Daily responsibilities include assessing player abilities, creating structured training programs, leading drills and practice matches, and providing constructive feedback to support player development. The coach will also ensure a safe training environment, manage equipment, communicate regularly with players and, where relevant, parents or guardians, and may coordinate schedules, venues, and match arrangements as part of running an independent coaching practice.
Qualifications
Minium level C Uefa Licence Preferably Level B
Safeguarding certificate
FA DBS currently valid up to May 2027
FA 1st Aid any level
- Candidates should possess strong Football Coaching and general Coaching skills, with experience planning and leading effective training sessions.
- Candidates should possess solid Football knowledge, including rules, tactics, positional play, and age-appropriate training methods.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to explain concepts clearly, motivate players, and liaise with parents, guardians, or partners.
- Candidates should possess Training-focused abilities, including session design, progression tracking, and performance analysis.
- Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., national or regional football association badges) are highly beneficial.
- Experience working with youth and/or adult players in team or individual settings is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful training environment for participants of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle scheduling, session planning, and self-employment responsibilities.
