About The Role
As a Data Innovation Lab professional at AXA, you will be responsible for generating tangible value from data and artificial intelligence (AI). You will be part of an interdisciplinary team comprising data scientists, software engineers, and business experts dedicated to developing innovative AI solutions that drive the long-term transformation of our insurance business. The position is situated within the "AI Business Capabilities" unit of the Data Innovation Lab, focusing on transitioning promising AI experiments into stable, operational systems and ensuring reliable AI system operation. Your role involves close collaboration with various teams within the lab, leveraging your expertise in MLOps, LLMOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to contribute to impactful projects that enhance our operational capabilities and customer offerings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks such as fastapi, pydantic, pydantic_ai, celery, polars, pytorch, and transformers. A willingness to understand and integrate insurance processes into AI applications is essential for effective development and deployment. Candidates should prioritize sustainable software development practices, including test-driven development, clean code principles, code reviews, and proficient use of Git. Experience with deploying and operating AI-driven software systems using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS is highly desirable, along with familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and OTEL. Knowledge of developing workflows based on large language models (LLMs), including agent design, prompting strategies, and tools like Mlflow or Langfuse, is a plus. Additionally, experience in project initiation—from ideation and prototyping to stable operation—and skills in SQL and Typescript will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with project teams to support the transition of AI experiments into production environments, ensuring seamless integration and operational stability.
- Identify commonalities among various AI applications and design reusable software components, services, and infrastructure to optimize development efficiency.
- Continuously explore new topics and navigate complex IT landscapes by combining technical expertise, domain knowledge, and business acumen to develop practical solutions for operational units.
- Operate, monitor, and optimize in-house developed machine learning and AI applications in production, including tasks such as performance tuning, incident management, alerting, and site reliability management.
