Diesel Mechanic/technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with strong experience in inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial vehicles in a fleet, dealership, or service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, and other vehicle components.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs to ensure vehicle reliability and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical documentation.
- Repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related equipment.
- Complete repair orders and accurately document all work performed.
- Identify required parts and communicate repair needs and timelines with service teams.
- Perform inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet quality standards.
- Respond to service needs, including occasional road calls when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following company safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in diesel mechanics.
- Hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks, buses, or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and drivetrain components.
- Ability to use diagnostic software, tools, and service manuals.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a commercial service environment.
- Good communication skills and commitment to safety and quality.
