Assistant Controller

You’ll work closely with leadership, lead and develop the accounting team, take ownership of key accounting functions, and help improve processes as the organization continues to grow. There is a ton of opportunity for advancement, with the potential for this role to ultimately develop into a Controller position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR and the General Ledger
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the accounting team
- Take ownership of month-end and year-end close
- Ensure financial transactions and reporting are accurate, complete and timely
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial performance and investigate variances
- Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure GAAP compliance
- Assist with external audits, tax requirements and regulatory reporting
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes
- Work cross-functionally throughout the organization
- Lead special initiatives, including accounting automation projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team
- ERP system experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Process-improvement mindset and desire to continue growing professionally
