FP&A DIRECTOR / SENIOR DIRECTOR
Retail General Insurance | APAC
Numbers with influence. Strategy with impact.
The Opportunity
This is a role for a finance leader who wants to be more than a scorekeeper — someone who sits inside the business, shapes its direction, and turns financial insight into commercial advantage.
As Director/Senior Director, you'll be the strategic financial partner to the leadership of a major retail general insurance division. You'll own the numbers, but more importantly, you'll own the story behind them — guiding pricing, underwriting and claims decisions with sharp financial thinking.
If you want a seat at the table rather than a report to file, this is it.
What You'll Own
✔Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Partner with leadership to shape and execute financial strategy across the retail general insurance book
- Provide the financial insight behind pricing, underwriting and claims decisions
- Lead the department's financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
✔Financial Planning & Analysis
- Analyse revenue, expenses, profitability and KPIs — and tell senior leadership what it actually means
- Build and present financial reports, dashboards and variance analyses that drive real decisions
- Spot trends, flag risks, and recommend the moves that optimise financial performance
✔Operations Management
- Work hand-in-glove with underwriting, claims and operations to keep financial and operational goals aligned
- Support pricing model development and ensure reserving practices hold up under scrutiny
- Keep a tight grip on expense management and resource efficiency
- Ensure the division stays airtight on financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policy
- Oversee statutory filings and regulatory submissions
- Be the trusted point of contact for auditors and regulators
✔Risk Management
- Assess financial risk across underwriting, claims and market conditions — and build the mitigation strategies to match
- Partner with actuarial teams to stress-test loss reserves and ensure adequacy
✔People Management
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Build the cross-functional relationships that keep the whole business pulling in the same direction
✔Systems & Procedures Improvement
- Put financial systems and tools to work, sharpening reporting, analytics and decision-making
- Drive process improvements that make finance faster, cleaner and more accurate
