Senior Business Analyst (healthcare)

Position Overview
The Senior Business Analyst will provide I&IT business analysis services to support business and technology initiatives. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify business needs, define requirements, analyze processes, and support the development of effective technology solutions.
The successful candidate will have experience with rules engines and/or business process automation platforms and working in Agile development environments.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience conducting business analysis for systems development projects involving a rules engine or business process automation platform.
- Experience developing business models, use cases, conceptual and logical data models, process/data flow models, business rules, test cases, and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working within an Agile methodology.
- Strong experience leading business analysis to assess business problems and opportunities and document requirements for I&IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct business analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation activities.
- Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts through interviews, workshops, JAD sessions, and other techniques.
- Develop business and process models, use cases, data models, process/data flows, business rules, and requirements documentation.
- Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, strategies, and feasibility studies.
- Apply business process re-engineering techniques to identify improvements and cost-effective solutions.
- Translate business and data requirements into specifications for technology solutions.
- Develop requirements traceability matrices and performance measures.
- Monitor progress, identify issues, and provide updates to management and stakeholders.
- Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and other stakeholder communications.
- Apply appropriate structured, object-oriented, and Agile business analysis methodologies.
- Ensure alignment with applicable OPS project management, architecture, gating, and systems development methodologies.
Additional Skills
- Experience with CASE tools and business analysis tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of AODA and related accessibility standards is an asset.
