Contract: September 21, 2026 – October 1, 2027
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join a large-scale public-sector technology environment in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, integrating and supporting enterprise web applications, working across both front-end and back-end technologies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Java, modern front-end frameworks, REST APIs, relational databases and microservices, along with a strong understanding of secure web application development and scalable architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug and maintain large-scale, multi-client web applications.
- Translate technical specifications into high-quality, tested software solutions.
- Develop and integrate front-end and back-end components and RESTful APIs.
- Design and implement scalable web architectures and microservice-based solutions.
- Develop data-driven applications using Java and Oracle/SQL databases.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide post-implementation support.
- Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Develop reusable, maintainable and testable software components.
- Integrate front-end applications with APIs and back-end services.
- Apply secure development practices and work with authentication/security protocols.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Participate in design walkthroughs, technical discussions and solution development.
- Ensure applications meet WCAG/AODA accessibility requirements.
- Support continuous integration and deployment using Azure DevOps.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java development using Oracle or SQL databases.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with REST APIs / RESTful Web Services.
- Strong experience with:
- React
- TypeScript
- HTML5 / CSS3
- Node.js
- Experience with microservices architecture and core software architecture principles.
- Experience with RXJS, NextJS and/or VueJS.
- Proven experience with WCAG and AODA.
- Experience developing responsive web applications.
- Experience using Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of security protocols and gateways, including JWT, OAuth 2.0 and SSL Certificates.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, refactoring and clean code practices.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, particularly Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
