Platform Engineer | AI & Critical Infrastructure:

Remote — Continental US | $150k–$200k + Equity

We're partnering with a fast-growing AI company building technology for the nuclear energy sector, working with nuclear utilities, national laboratories and other highly regulated organizations.

They're looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure behind their core AI platform.

This isn't a standard SaaS DevOps role. You'll deploy and operate Kubernetes across Azure, customer-owned cloud environments and bare-metal infrastructure inside highly secure plant networks.

What you'll work on:

- Build and operate production Kubernetes environments across Azure/AKS, customer cloud tenants and on-prem k3s/RKE2

- Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Helm and ArgoCD/GitOps

- Design secure infrastructure covering network segmentation, egress controls, ingress/WAF, TLS, RBAC and secrets management

- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

- Manage identity and customer federation using Keycloak, OIDC and SAML

- Operate PostgreSQL, OpenSearch and RabbitMQ

- Own observability using Prometheus, Grafana and Loki

- Support GPU/LLM inference infrastructure and model-serving workloads

- Troubleshoot production environments, participate in on-call and own incidents through postmortem

- Work directly with customer IT/cybersecurity teams through deployments and security reviews

What we're looking for:

- 5+ years in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, SRE or similar

- Strong hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting production Kubernetes

- Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience

- Strong cloud experience — Azure/AKS preferred, although AWS/GCP backgrounds are considered

- Experience with Docker, Helm and GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux)

- Strong Linux and production infrastructure knowledge

- Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, ingress, load balancing, firewalls/security groups and private connectivity

- Strong security engineering judgment around least privilege, network boundaries, secrets and access control

- Ability to communicate infrastructure/security decisions directly to technical customer teams

You don't need everything below, but we'd especially like to hear from engineers with experience in: Customer-owned cloud deployments • Air-gapped/network-isolated environments • Bare metal • k3s/RKE2 • Azure Government/AWS GovCloud • Regulated industries • SOC 2 • OIDC/SAML • GPU/LLM infrastructure • Kubernetes security

Package:

$150,000–$200,000 base + equity

Fully remote — Continental US time zones

100% employee health, dental & vision coverage

Quarterly company meetups + occasional customer travel

Important eligibility requirement

Due to Department of Energy export-control requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old and able to successfully complete the required background investigation.

If you're a Platform Engineer who enjoys owning infrastructure end-to-end and solving difficult Kubernetes, cloud, networking and security problems, apply to learn more about the company and team.
