Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction

A well-established General Contractor based in Fort Lauderdale, FL is looking to add an experienced Senior Estimator to their preconstruction team.
The company specializes in commercial, retail, healthcare, and multifamily construction, with projects typically ranging from $5M to $100M+.
The Role
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading estimates from initial concept through bid submission, working closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and the operations team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for $5M–$100M+ commercial construction projects
- Lead quantity takeoffs and review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Develop conceptual, schematic, GMP, and final estimates
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Manage bid leveling and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and discrepancies
- Work closely with Project Managers and Preconstruction teams
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Develop project budgets and maintain accurate cost information
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations
- Assist with procurement and project turnover following award
- Provide pricing and estimating support for change orders when required

Requirements
- 7+ years of construction estimating experience
- Experience with a General Contractor preferred
- Proven experience estimating commercial projects valued at $5M+
- Strong understanding of subcontractor scopes, construction costs, and project delivery
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge of South Florida construction markets preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software such as Bluebeam, OST, Procore, BuildingConnected, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
