QA Automation Analyst (Contract)
Playwright | 6-Month Contract
We're hiring a QA Automation Analyst with strong Playwright experience for a 6-month contract. This role is heavily focused on building and maintaining automated test coverage across custom and cloud applications in QA/UAT environments, supporting an active digital transformation initiative.
📅 Duration: 6 months
📍 Location: Hybrid — 1 day/week onsite in Downtown Vancouver
What You'll Do:
- Design, write, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright in Azure DevOps
- Build and scale automation frameworks to reduce manual testing effort
- Execute automated and manual test cases, tracking results and defects through resolution
- Validate software functionality against requirements and standards
- Conduct root cause analysis and gather business requirements as needed
- Review cross-system impacts and generate burn-down charts
- Work directly with developers and business staff across the full SDLC to embed automation into the testing process
What You Bring:
- Technical diploma or degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- 3+ years in a QA role, with a strong focus on test automation
- Strong hands-on Playwright Framework experience — this is core to the role
- Strong JavaScript
- Experience with Robot Framework and Selenium for automated testing
- API test automation experience (ReadyAPI/SoapUI, Postman) and comfort working with databases
- Solid understanding of web, client-server, and database technologies in a Microsoft environment
- Thorough knowledge of Azure DevOps across the full SDLC
- Understanding of ETL, security/role-based testing, SQL reporting, and workflows
- Strong grasp of Agile principles and SDLC
- Excellent communication skills — listening, speaking, and writing
Nice to Have:
- Experience testing MS Dynamics 365 (cloud) or Power Platform, manual or automated
- CSTB certification (or equivalent)
