We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions. This role will partner with business leaders, technical teams, and end users to define requirements, improve processes, resolve project challenges, and ensure solutions meet operational objectives.
The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented problem-solver with strong stakeholder-management skills and experience working on IT infrastructure or cybersecurity initiatives. Experience with ServiceNow and disaster recovery is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business needs and translate them into clear functional and technical requirements.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business leaders, clients, technical teams, and end users.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, business requirements, system specifications, workflows, and implementation materials.
- Identify process inefficiencies, system challenges, project risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend practical and cost-effective technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Define project objectives, scope, business needs, and solution requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and properly implemented.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and actionable insights.
- Support the evaluation and procurement of hardware and software solutions.
- Monitor requirements throughout delivery and confirm that completed solutions meet business and user needs.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, risks, and project updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate documentation required for implementation, operational handover, and ongoing support.
- Assist in resolving project issues and conduct post-implementation evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within technology-focused environments.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements.
- Strong analytical, conceptual-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams toward practical, acceptable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong process-mapping and documentation capabilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of core business functions and their relationship with technology systems.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams, clients, managers, and end users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure or cybersecurity initiatives.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity projects.
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with ServiceNow, particularly in an infrastructure, cybersecurity, or disaster-recovery environment.
- Programming or scripting experience.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data-visualization tools.
