Senior AI Engineer (Copilot Studio & Python) - Contract Role
Dublin | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)

Stelfox is hiring on behalf of a leading Dublin-based organisation seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to design and deliver innovative AI-powered automation solutions across enterprise platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building intelligent workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Python, APIs, and modern integration technologies. You'll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to create scalable, AI-enabled solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AI-powered workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Build, configure, and maintain Copilot Studio agents, actions, tools, and orchestration workflows
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and enterprise applications using modern integration patterns
- Create supporting services and automation components using Python
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
- Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, and aligned with engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews and support engineering standards across the team
- Mentor developers and contribute to Agile delivery activities including sprint planning and estimation
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions
- Strong commercial experience with Python development
- Proven experience designing and building REST APIs and system integrations
- Strong knowledge of JSON, web services, and integration frameworks
- Experience working with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
- Strong software design and solution architecture capabilities
- Experience delivering production-grade applications within large organisations
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Experience conducting code reviews and promoting engineering best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate & Power Apps), and designing enterprise workflow automation solutions.
- Experience integrating Microsoft 365 services (Teams & SharePoint).
Nice to Have
- knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol), Generative AI/LLMs, Agentic AI, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and providing technical leadership and mentoring within complex enterprise environments.
