Senior Backend Python Developer x3 | Contract Roles

6-Month Initial Contract | Rolling Extension

Stelfox is partnering with a rapidly growing Dublin-based technology organisation that is expanding its engineering function and looking to hire three Senior Backend Python Developers on a long-term contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team working on the design, development, and enhancement of scalable backend platforms, APIs, and distributed services that support critical business operations and future growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust backend applications using Python
- Develop and support scalable RESTful APIs and microservices
- Contribute to the architecture of distributed systems and cloud-native solutions
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, UX teams, and Software Engineers
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and optimise application performance, reliability, and scalability
- Participate in code reviews and champion engineering best practices
- Support CI/CD initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members where required
Required Experience
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience with Python
- Strong hands-on experience with Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks
- Proven experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
- Strong SQL and relational database expertise
- Solid Linux/Unix development and administration experience
- Experience working with Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory, and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable backend architectures
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
