Attorney responsible for handling disciplinary and administrative law matters involving healthcare licensees practicing in rural Tennessee counties. The role includes reviewing complaints and investigations, advising investigators and licensing board consultants, negotiating resolutions, and representing the department in hearings and trials before healthcare licensing boards. The attorney will manage a high-volume litigation caseload and may also support legislative projects and healthcare-related bill analysis.
Key Candidate Requirements
- Active Tennessee Bar admission in good standing
- At least 1 year of relevant legal experience preferred
- Litigation and trial experience
- Administrative law / healthcare licensing experience preferred
- Ability to manage a large and diverse caseload
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trials
- Ability to work with investigators, consultants, healthcare professionals, and government stakeholders
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must be able to work in-office weekly
- Must provide TN Bar license number and writing sample (10 pages or less) with application
