Insurance Specialist

Rayify is hiring insurance experts for two jobs:

- Designing workflows across the insurance lifecycle, and;

- Evaluating AI-generated insurance work outputs such as submission packs, quote comparisons, triage decisions, risk assessments, pricing referrals, terms and conditions as well as claims management processes.

The engagement is remote and hourly. You are paid from the first session. We invite applicants from around the world.

About Rayify

Rayify builds Agentic AI workflows and decision intelligence systems for regulated financial services - insurance, credit and private markets - deployable on your own infrastructure, trained on your data, auditable for boards and regulators, and designed to keep outputs traceable and secure. We also run AI training and enablement for the financial institutions, from technical hands-on workshops to non-technical sessions for business teams, executive and board audiences.

What you'll do

Design the workflows

- Paid working sessions mapping insurance workflows; the steps, decision points, checks, handoffs and failure modes

- Co-design workflow specifications an agent can be built, validated and tested against, covering inputs, outputs, escalation points and success metrics

- Define new tasks that reflect how the work gets done in practice

Evaluate the outputs

- Review and grade AI-generated work products against domain quality rubrics, flagging missing steps, factual errors, thin reasoning, flawed assumptions, and outputs that read well but would not survive a claims audit or an underwriting review

- Produce instruction specs and high quality examples: the reference deliverables that define what best practice looks like for an agent

- Design difficult insurance tasks and evaluation sets, and help develop domain-specific skills and tools with the research team

- Calibrate with researchers and specialists in adjacent fields so standards stay consistent

The workflows we cover

- Broker placement and market submissions: submission packs, market presentations, quote comparisons

- Submission intake and underwriting triage: triage decisions, appetite checks, data extraction from broker submissions

- Underwriting and quote/bind: risk assessments, pricing referrals, terms and conditions, bind checklists

- Policy servicing and endorsements: endorsement processing, mid-term adjustments, renewals packs

- Claims, FNOL through settlement: FNOL capture, coverage assessments, reserving, settlement recommendations, subrogation

- Delegated authority and MGA oversight: bordereaux review, binder compliance checks, audit packs

You do not need to cover all of these. Tell us where you have owned the work.

Who this suits

Must have

- Five or more years of hands-on insurance experience, where you owned these workflows yourself

- Direct ownership of at least one full cycle: a risk from submission to bind, a claim from FNOL to settlement, or a binder through an audit cycle

- Native or professional fluency in English

- High proficiency with the tools the work gets done in, meaning the market's core systems plus Excel, Word and PowerPoint or the Google Workspace equivalents

- The ability to turn a judgement call into written criteria an engineer or researcher can act on

Nice to have

- ACII, FCII or equivalent market qualifications

- Hands-on use of LLMs in your professional work, and the judgement to tell a well-reasoned answer from a plausible-sounding wrong one

- Prior experience evaluating or training AI systems

You might be an underwriter, claims lead or adjuster, broker, MGA operator, delegated authority manager, or insurance risk specialist.

Engagement terms

- You are engaged as an independent contractor, fully remote

- Hourly, flexible and ad hoc, with hours scaling as the pipeline grows

- Engagements can be adjusted, extended or shortened based on performance and client requirements
