Public Policy Domain Specialist: Financial Services and Technology

Rayify is hiring public policy experts for two jobs:

- Designing workflows across the public policy lifecycle, and;

- Evaluating AI-generated outputs from the Rayify platform for accuracy, rigour and domain quality.

The engagement is remote and hourly. You are paid from the first session.

We invite applicants from around the world.

About Rayify

Rayify builds Agentic AI workflows and decision intelligence systems for regulated financial services - insurance, credit and private markets - deployable on your own infrastructure, trained on your data, auditable for boards and regulators, and designed to keep outputs traceable and secure. We also run AI training and enablement for the financial institutions, from technical hands-on workshops to non-technical sessions for business teams, executive and board audiences.

What you'll do

Design the workflows

- Paid working sessions mapping public policy workflows within financial services and technology sectors; the steps, decision points, checks, handoffs and failure modes

- Co-design workflow specifications an agent can be built, validated and tested against, covering inputs, outputs, escalation points and success metrics

- Define new tasks that reflect how the work gets done in practice

Evaluate the outputs

- Review and grade AI-generated work products against domain quality rubrics, flagging missing steps, factual errors, thin reasoning, flawed assumptions, and outputs.

- Produce instruction specs and high quality examples: the reference deliverables that define what best practice looks like for an agent

- Design difficult public policy tasks and evaluation sets, and help develop domain-specific skills and tools with the research team

- Calibrate with researchers and specialists in adjacent fields so standards stay consistent

The outputs you will be focussed on include but are not limited to:

- Documents: briefings and board papers, verification notes, technical reviews and interpretation notes, causal and impact assessments, positioning papers, advocacy narratives, post-implementation reviews

- Exec and board decks: issue maps, stakeholder maps, scenario walk-throughs, policy update packs

- Spreadsheets: regulatory and trajectory trackers, engagement logs, jurisdiction or peer comparison matrices

The workflows we cover

- Regulatory horizon scanning and tracking: horizon scan reports, regulatory trackers, alerts triage, technical reviews of new publications for senior stakeholders

- Policy analysis and impact assessments: impact assessments, gap analyses, options papers, jurisdiction and market-entry assessments

- Consultation responses: response drafts, evidence compilation, position coordination

- Policy briefings: ministerial and exec briefings, Q&A packs, lines to take, parliamentary question and correspondence responses, board and committee papers

- Advocacy and government relations: position narratives and advocacy plans, coalition and trade-association materials, briefs and readouts for meetings with officials, regulators and parliamentarians

- Stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking: stakeholder maps, engagement logs, event and bilateral programmes

You do not need to cover all of these. Tell us where you have owned the work.

Who this suits

Must have

- Five or more years of hands-on public policy experience, where you owned these workflows yourself

- Direct ownership of at least one full cycle: a consultation response from analysis to submission, a policy position from horizon scan to briefing, an advocacy campaign from position to outcome, or an engagement programme through a legislative process

- You have authored financial markets policy analysis rather than commissioned it, and principals acted on it: briefings, forecasts or position papers that went to an exec, a board or a minister's office, across multiple issues. You have also answered for how your calls aged

- Native or professional fluency in English

- High proficiency with the tools the work gets done in, meaning Word and PowerPoint or the Google Workspace equivalents

- The ability to turn a judgement call into written criteria an engineer or researcher can act on

Nice to have

- An advanced degree in public policy, law, economics or a related field

- Hands-on use of LLMs in your professional work, and the judgement to tell a well-reasoned answer from a plausible-sounding wrong one

- Prior experience evaluating or training AI systems

You might be a policy lead, public affairs or regulatory affairs professional, government affairs specialist, an in-house regulatory policy specialist at a financial institution, or a former regulator or civil servant.

This post covers policy analysis, advocacy and engagement workflows: what regulators and legislators are doing, what it means, and how to respond.

Engagement terms

- You are engaged as an independent contractor, fully remote

- Hourly, flexible and ad hoc, with hours scaling as the pipeline grows

- Engagements can be adjusted, extended or shortened based on performance and client requirements

- You will not handle sensitive or proprietary information in this engagement.

- You are paid weekly, on completed work

- Quote your hourly rate when you apply

Why join

The work is well paid and you will be helping to shape how agentic AI is evolving in your domain area. You also join a growing community of financial services experts working on agentic AI, with shared sessions and early access to what we are building.
