Junior Systems Engineer – Vancouver

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Vancouver – Onsite

Experience: 1–3 years

Salary: $60K–$70K

Seeking :Junior Systems Engineer to join the Backend & Platform Engineering team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys cloud infrastructure, DevOps, automation, backend development, and AI tools.

What You’ll Do

- Support and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure

- Work with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS and Docker

- Develop backend services and tools using Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript

- Automate tasks using Ansible, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code

- Monitor systems, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root-cause analysis

- Support MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and platform reliability

- Use AI coding assistants and agents for development, troubleshooting, and automation

- Work closely with senior engineers and participate in on-call after training

What We’re Looking For

- 1–3 years of backend, Systems/IT Administration, DevOps, co-op, or internship experience

- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience

- Programming/scripting skills; Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript preferred

- Working knowledge of Linux

- Experience with Git

- Understanding of REST APIs and networking fundamentals

- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn

- Comfortable using or learning AI development tools

Nice to Have

AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD, GitHub Actions/Jenkins, Bash, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, networking, IAM/security, and AI APIs/agent frameworks.
