An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Monaghan.
This is a key leadership role offering the chance to drive a strong safety culture, influence operational best practice, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance across the site.
Working closely with site leadership and the wider Health & Safety function, you will play a pivotal role in promoting continuous improvement, supporting operational teams, and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve site Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement appropriate control measures.
- Support and coach managers and supervisors in maintaining safe working practices.
- Lead site audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action programmes.
- Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor and report on safety performance, compliance activities, and key metrics.
- Chair safety meetings and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Drive employee engagement and behavioural safety initiatives to strengthen the site's safety culture.
- Provide expert guidance on occupational health, ergonomics, equipment safety, and safe systems of work.
Requirements
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent IOSH-recognised qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification Health & Safety experience, ideally within manufacturing, food production, or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard business applications.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Previous training or coaching experience would be advantageous.
